Dresses:
From April to September the weather is quite pleasant, the people wear light woolen clothes. During winters heavy woolen clothes are a must .
The women wear colorful, knee-length shirts with shalwars and cover their heads with traditional embroidered caps. For men, the common dress is Salwar Kameez and caps made out of hand-woven woolen material called ‘Pattu' they wear loose embroidered gowns as overcoats in winters.
Food:
Among other organically grown foods, the most common Hunza fruit is apricot, which is considered their gold. The people there eat fresh apricots during the season, they dry them and also purify the dried apricots, which are later used to make jams and ice cream. These people are also rich in other fruits that are grown there, including apples, pears, black and red cherries, and peaches. Gardens and trees under cultivation are used to assess the economic stability of the local people in Hunza.
Hunza chapati is an important component of their diet which is made from nutritious grains. Ice milk also helps keep them healthy.
Education :
According to a survey, the literacy rate in the Hunza Valley is over 90%. The Valley is a "role model" for Pakistan, where every child receives at least a high school education in terms of literacy rate and school enrollment. Many of them go to renowned colleges and universities in Pakistan and abroad for higher studies.
